  4. S – Assigned BN S-3 from 12JAN11 to 8MAY11, in charge of Company containing 42 cadets charged with overall performance of Cadet training. T – Conduct Troop Leading Procedures (TLP’s). (Receive Mission, WARNO, OPORD) A – One week prior to leadership lab, got together with company leadership and issued a warning order, giving them any and all information available at that time. A – Received the mission, took copious notes, asked pertinent questions. A – Immediately following the operations order brief, issued warning order #2, which contained the time & place of my operations order briefing. A – Issued a complete 5 paragraph operations order and utilized the risk management process while planning training. A-Used a clear and concise voice, ensuring my intent was clearly understood by conducting a thorough back brief. A – Assigned primary and assistant instructors for lab A-Ensured that instructors were knowledgeable and rehearsed on their topics. R – Instructors were thoroughly briefed and prepared for training prior to execution.

  5. T – Conduct Leadership Lab, After Actions Review (AAR), and Change of Command. A – Ensured my element was trained to the highest standard by rehearsing classes with instructors paying close attention to accuracy of material. A – Enthusiastically offered excellent feedback during after actions review in order to improve my subordinates’ standards and capabilities. A – Formally conducted change of command ensuring positive future performance by giving detailed continuity information to my successor. A – Correctly and neatly completed Cadet Self-Assessment Report and turned in to my evaluator on time R – Element was 100% present, highly trained & motivated. T – Conduct Physical Training (PT) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. A – Prepared a physical training plan for my group and discussed plan with higher no later than one week prior to execution. A – Ensured all my personnel knew proper uniform, formation times and locations, ensuring 100% attendance & accountability. A – Ensured that my element reached muscle failure in push-ups and sit-ups and had a minimum of 20 minutes of cardio respiratory workout. R – Element was 100% present, well trained and highly motivated

Sustain- • CO- Utilized terrain model kit effectively during operations order brief, having an assistant move parts during my briefing. • DK-I demonstrated a through understanding of knock out a bunker tactics in accordance with FM3-21.8. • Improve- • PS- Need to develop better understanding of operations orders skeletons and prepare myself before lab. • IP- Develop a better sense of awareness, in regards to how my subordinates view my leadership abilities. • Actions I plan to take- • IP- Continually evaluate my squad members’ reactions to my leadership style. • MB- Seek guidance from 2LT Kilgore on improving my voice inflection when giving commands.

TTPs • Fill out all sections of the card in pencil EXCEPT the signature block. • Sell yourself to the evaluator, explain your actions during the counseling. • Apply the techniques you would use when creating a resume. • Write out your thoughts on paper then transfer to the card. • Take note of your actions throughout the week. • Settle any disputes and ask any questions before you sign the blue card.
