Acceptable Proof of Eligibility • Separation Document/DD214 • Travel Orders • Medical Orders • Morning Report • Assignment Listing • Photo of eligible veteran in the identifiable area • Memorials where the veterans name appears • Letters from eligible veteran that would establish foreign service • Any proof that is acceptable to the VFW

Include All Members • Fold letters, send cards, make care packages • Serve a meal • Make hospital tray favors • Work a “Buddy” Poppy Drive • Carry a flag in a parade • Write letters to a Senator or Representative • Bring comfort to a hospitalized veteran • Make students aware of the Scholarship programs available • Rally youth to help pack care packages for our troops

  10. Investing in Our Future Be sure to: • Listen. Don’t listen to respond - listen to understand. • Change a negative into a positive. • Always be prepared. IMAGINE the reward when your Auxiliary invests in its members!

  11. Adopt-A-Member

  12. Adopt-A-Member Consider paying Annual dues for: • A major milestone of continuous years of membership. Ex.: 10, 15, 20, 25 years, etc. • A birthday gift. • Helping out with an expense while they continue their education. • To say thank you. • Consider purchasing a Life membership from the Auxiliary • As a token of appreciation. • As a thank you for all a member has done for the Auxiliary. • To honor their years with the organization.

Awards for Members • Red Plumeria Pin for 5 new and/or rejoined members. • White Plumeria Pin for 10 new and/or rejoined members. • Blue Plumeria Pin for 20 new and/or rejoined members. • Special VFW Auxiliary Member Drawing for each VFW Auxiliary member who recruits five (5) new and/or rejoined members. Your name will be entered in a drawing for $300 cash.

NATIONAL AWARDS FOR AUXILIARIES • 50/50 Award $50 to each Auxiliary that reaches 95% by November 30, 2019 and $50 to each Auxiliary that reaches 100% Plus by January 31, 2020 based on the June 30, 2019 total membership numbers. • Membership Awards 2019-2020 • Department of Minnesota • All awards paid to District or Auxiliary Treasurer • Department of Minnesota District Awards • District in 1st place each month receives $20 • August 1- District 7 76.94% September 1- District 7 %84.49 • District reaching 100% in membership by December 31, 2019, receives $75 • District reaching 100% Plus by May 31, 2020, receives $100 • Auxiliary Awards • (One award per auxiliary) • Auxiliary reaching 100% in membership by August 31, 2019 receives $40 • Auxiliary reaching 100% in membership by September 30, 2019 receives $35 • Auxiliary reaching 100% in membership by October 31, 2019 receives $30 • Auxiliary reaching 100% in membership by November 30, 2019 receives $25 • Auxiliary reaching 100% in membership by December 31, 2019 receives $20 • All Auxiliaries reaching 100% in membership by April 30, 2020 will be entered into a drawing at Department Convention for $100

  15. Membership is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year effort. When we combine drive, commitmentand passion for the work our organization does for our nation’s heroes… … just IMAGINE how we can grow!
