ADVERBS • An adverb is a word that can tell when, where, or how something happens.

ADVERBS TELLING WHERE • here • there • everywhere • outside • inside • underneath • around • downstairs • anywhere • nearby
ADVERBS TELLING HOW quietly differently firmly clearly quickly happily joyfully interestingly beautifully carefully
ADVERBS • Adverbs can come before or after the verbs they describe.
ADVERB EXAMPLE WHEN • Today we are studying adverbs. • Today is the adverb telling when.
ADVERB EXAMPLE WHEN • Soon it will be summer. • Soon is the adverb in the sentence.
ADVERB TELLING WHEN • The glass festival is held annually in Mt. Pleasant. • Annually is the adverb in the sentence.
ADVERB EXAMPLE WHERE • His mother sent him upstairs to study. • Upstairs is the adverb in the sentence.
ADVERB EXAMPLE WHERE • Mr. Michael can be anywhere in the building. • Anywhere is the adverb in the sentence.
