The Kilmer Building Built in 1902, after the original was damaged by fire. The Starting point of the tour. There would be students and local volunteers acting as patients and employees at the former factory. Also an actor dressed up as Doctor Kilmer “selling” Swamp Root.
The Kilmer family was a very significant family in the development of the Binghamton area. Doctor Kilmer was the inventor of swamp root and a traveling doctor in Binghamton's surrounding cities.

During the tour, the guides will mention historical facts about the buildings that are located along the walk. Small businesses and restaurants will be allowed to set up tents and booths to sell food to people taking part in the Ghost walk.
The purpose of The Downtown Binghamton Ghost Walk is to bring people to the area to appreciate the historic buildings, and local businesses. Preserving the local history is not only important for Binghamton, but it is also important for the diversity of culture that lives here.
