Lesson 1 Module 1, Unit 1 Rain School
Lesson 1 • I can talk with my partner in order to record “notices” and “wonders” about pictures. • I can ask and answer questions about a text.
Carousel Brainstorm Purpose • You can share your ideas with your friends and build a common vocabulary or vision. You can also show your teacher what you already know. Procedure • There will be posters at different stations in the room that you will look at as a group. • Each team will start at a particular station. • At each station, your team should think about how you will respond to the question. Write your response on the poster. • After a couple of minutes you will rotate to the next station with your team and respond. • When you have visited each station, we will come as a group and discuss our responses.
Carousel Activity • Look at the pictures at your station. • With your group, complete the What I Notice/What I Wonder T-Chart.

Your Turn • Read the quote. It is okay if you don’t understand it yet. • Think of a question you have based on what you read. • Underline words you don’t know or can’t figure out. • Circle words that help you figure out possible answers to those questions. • Write possible answers to your questions using complete sentences.
