Beauty pageants are very expensive. Parents have to pay for the entry fees, fake teeth called flippers, hair, and eyelashes. Also, they pay for the gown, spray tan, coaches, and hair and make-up stylists.
In a television series called Toddlers and Tiaras, there are spoiled girls who compete in pageants. Even though their parents spend a lot of time with the girls, they are more like coaches than parents. When they get competitive and the girl looses, they take it out on their daughters which can lower their self-esteem.
Pageant girls can be rude as well. They think that they are beauty queens and that they should get attention all the time. The mothers may spoil them so much that they turn into little devils. They are like bombs. If you get them ticking, then they will explode. This can be proved by going onto this website… look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-6Bn7uJXhc&feature=BF&playnext=1&list=QL
If children and women feel uncomfortable with their body they will want to loose some weight. Small diets purposed to loose a few pounds might turn into fatal cases of anorexia. Some might not like their facial appearance, so it might lead to cravings of plastic surgery. Lastly, some loosing contestants might feel ugly and appalling. This could lead to depression or thoughts of suicide like some others have done in the past.
All pageants do is have judges rate on whether or not women are beautiful. They are very harmful in many distinct ways that I have just explained. Do you don’t want to put your child in harmful situations?
