Summary of key results from the situation analysis and benchmarking (May 2012) Findings Implications for the LOGIVAC Center • Programme • The scope of the training programme offered by the institutions is focused –allowing the institutions to develop a credible expertise in specific fields • Pricing • Inscription fees for long-term pre-service Masters qualification can reach up to € 15 000 in terms. • Inscription fees for shorter trainings range € 600 – 1650 for 40 hours of training • Promotion • Some institutions very strong in promoting the benefits • career progression • international alumni network • international recognition of degree Focus on health logistics, with a clearly defined geographic scope for Africa ; provide a comprehensive training offer adapted to identified needs Ensure training offer is competitive, especially to degrees that are offered in the sub-region ; facilitate access with integration in national plan, sponsorship Integrate best practices for promotion of the training offer ; ensure regional accreditation, provide additional services (professional network, operational research and TA)

Starting the 2nd edition bachelor degree training - Recommendations from the pedagogic review from the 1st edition: • Distance learning will be provided once before the Face to Face session • Distance learning evaluation will be done during F to F session • Internship will be organized in Benin for all students for better supervision - Available capacity: 25 – 30 students - Start date: 2 December 2013 Key facts • - 78 applicants from 16 countries; 58 are eligible for registration • - Costs: € 8,000 inscription fees + budget for transport and living expenses • - Scholarships to date • Private sector: GSK: 8for participants from DRC • WHO: 8 scholarships • UNICEF: 8 • Countries: 2 • Self funding : 3 Candidates and scholarships
