Four reasons for a later time • Jesus was presented in the temple: the sacrifice of a poor family, if they had gold they could have afforded a lamb. • Magi didn’t visit Jesus in a manger but went to his house. Matt. 2:11 • Matthew refers to him as a young child but Luke refers to Jesus as a babe. • Herod had all the boys 2 years and younger killed

  14. The Gifts • Gold – symbol of tried faith. 1Pet. 1:7 • Frankincense – symbol of prayer Ex.30:34 • Myrrh – means bitterness, a symbol for sacrifice

  15. Lesson for US • Wise men and women, like the Magi, still seek out our Lord. • We must come before him to lay down our gifts. • Our gifts, thoughts and actions before him Romans 12:1
