  2. Purpose of Culvert Inspections • Identify bad pipes to be replaced during scheduled highway project. • Reduce the incidence of road failures from deteriorated pipes.

  3. Inspection Basics • Inspection Codes: • 1 = Good as new condition • 2 = Some wear, but structurally sound • 3 = Extensive deterioration, consider for repair or replacement • 4 = Critical deterioration • 0 = Not rate-able
