  2. Where are our alumnae now? • Harriet Cook studied Spanish at Cambridge. Now working in local government in Galicia, North West Spain. • Izzy Gordon worked for the Liberal Party Spain before starting her Spanish degree at Oxford. • Rosie Lawrence studied Russian at Oxford. Currently on her year abroad in Perm, a city in the Ural Mountains in Russia

  3. Where are our alumnae now? • Jenny Granroth was working at a school in Leon, Spain. Now at UCL completing degree. • Bridget Costedoat studied French and German, now lives in France • Kate Sargan studied Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge. Now using medieval languages in her current workplace.

  4. Bridget Kendall • Studied French and Russian at Oxford. • Diplomatic Correspondent for the BBC

  5. Kate McMullen • I moved to Paris after university. • I could basically walk into whatever job I wanted there because being bilingual over there is like gold. • Being bilingual abroad, I cut through the competition. • I work as a copywriter in an advertising agency, now based in Shanghai, still using my French!

  6. Alex Runciman • Studied French & Spanish at Edinburgh • 3 summers spent at Moët & Chandon’s Château in Épernay • Events Officer at the Institute of Masters of Wine • Site Events and Wine Communications Co-ordinator at Bodega Numanthiain Toro, Spain.

  7. Ruby Carmichael • Living and working in Munich as an au-pair. • My German has improved so much by being in the country and using it everyday

  8. Victoria Ball • Read Arabic & Spanish with Social Anthropology • I can speak English, French, Spanish, Arabic, German and Chinese (to varying levels!) • Studying languages will open doors, whatever profession. • By learning languages you are doubling, tripling or quadrupling your market.

I speak French, German, Italian and Hebrew • Learning languages expands your horizons, not just in your careers but also in life possibilities and interaction with other people and cultures

  14. Oktoberfest! • Chloe Francis, Dani Arnold & Katie Knowles all currently in Munich at the Oktoberfest. • They hooked up with their German exchange partners … • still in touch!
