  2. Today’s DIN • Who do you believe should become a President? Or Do you think it matters where a person is born if they want to run for president?

  3. The Requirements • A person Must be at least 35 years old • Born in the United States and/or to United States citizens. • Must have been a resident in the United States for at least 14 years. • Why do you think these rules are in place. Fill in the answer on your worksheet.

The Presidential Election Today… • Current Betting Odds of victory/ Clinton: 75% Trump 25% -Fivethirtyeight.com • Current Polling: Clinton at 48% of the vote/ Trump at 43% of the vote – Realclearpolitics.com • (President Obama won by 4% last election and was favored in the betting odds 85% to 15%)

  5. The Electoral Map • The Blue States are Democrat and will likely go to Clinton • The Red States are Republican and will Likely go to Trump • The Blank States are Toss-ups and could go either way. • To win the election, candidates must get 270 electoral votes. Each state is worth an amount in proportion to the states population. • (Map activity)
