Making a change • Animal Abuse- the infliction of suffering or harm upon animals. • If we stop animal cruelty we could save up to 300,000 animals a year • By making animal abuse illegal we could make the united states a better country • Unfortunately the Government turned down the law to ban animal abuse saying it violated constitutional guarantees of free speech and created a "criminal prohibition of alarming breadth.“
Life as a Hostage • If anyone actually took the time to read the back of a shampoo bottle they would realize that animal testing is actually a bigger deal than they think • About 90% of the products used today are tested on animals and more than half of the tests involve pain. Hobbs Story Hobbes, the cat, has been under experimentation for most of his life. This is probably the last time that he will ever have to be experimented on again. Why? Because he is probably not going to make it through this time, the makers of Herbal Essences are about to force shampoo down his throat to see what happens to ‘it’s’ organs. Even if ‘it’ lives through the process, they are going to have to kill ‘it’ to see which organs could have been damaged.
Fur coats are cool, for an animal to wear • Passive Abuse is not taking any form of action, for example allowing a dog to starve or failing to alleviate pain to an injured or ill animal Active cruelty requires committing an act which inflicts pain such as cutting off a limb, stabbing, choking or punching • Many people don’t realize that what they are doing is bad but some do it to : -control an animal -express anger -shock people for amusement • Some unlucky animals just get off to a bad start at Puppy Mills. The ‘prisoners of greed’ are constantly bread as unhealthy and genetically defective solely for profit. It is estimated that 500,000 dogs are born in puppy mills each year
