  2. Methodology Use on-line data base – National Newspaper Index Search for articles in People, Newsweek, Time, Redbook, Chicago Tribune, NY Times, US News and World Report, Washington Post for the past 3 years. Searched for the word Autism as a keyword

  3. Purpose of Research Determine what information the “average Joe” had about people with Autism Spectrum Disorders Evaluate popular print media for the use of person-first language.

  4. Data Analysis • Read through all articles and classified them according to content • Classifications: • Classification-16 Articles • Educational (procedure)- 10 Articles • Increase in diagnosis- 6 Articles • FAQ-3 Articles
