  1. T-shirt Screen Printing: The New Talk of The Town By introducing the use of specialty printing methods and inks, t-shirt printing can be customized in unique ways. For decades, t-shirt screen printing or “silk screen printing” as it is often called has been around. The principle remains essentially the same from the simpler hand printed method to large fully automated presses. Onto a tight mess that is stretched between frames or “screens” a negative image of the artwork is burned. It is opaque when it comes to the image. Through a squeegee, ink is poured onto the mesh which is then forced through the holes. The positive imprint only is then printed onto the t-shirt which is placed beneath the screen on a platen as the opaque negative image will not allow the ink to pass through it. The process of screen printing Screen printing can involve being used on substrates ranging from metal to plastic when many people heat, the words “screen printing” or “silk printing” and they automatically think of the printing on a t- shirt. For a flat or relatively flat surface, a printing technique is particularly suited.

  2. Around a frame which is a ridge, a process involves a screen or fine mesh stretched tightly. They are masked out on the printing screen if there are areas that you do not want to be printed. Over the item which you want to be printed with a blob of thick paint to create the print the framed screen will be positioned on. On a plastic or wooden handle, a stiff rubber blade is mounted. Across the screen to press the ink through the screen it is used to pull the pain. The areas which are unmasked will allow the ink to be imprinted though in the areas that are masked the ink is prevented from passing through. The item is put on a conveyor belt through the heat tunnel once this is done. To ensure that the inks will dry quickly and that the material can be packaged, this is called a curing process. Even under harsh conditions, on the printed substrate, of the inks have been properly cured.

  3. The process will be repeated with the different screens if there are more colors desired in the final design. If the design requires three colors then it would require three different screens for example. The screens are normally placed on a rotary press to make sure that the colors are registered or properly aligned. There are fully automatic pressers for some screen printers. They do not require any manual labor other than setting up the machines and then loading and unloading the machines with these types. Design T-shirts With Screen Printing Technology Over the other alternative methods available, t-shirt screen printing has one distinct advantage. It is fast. From a simple 6 color press, between 30-90 t-shirts an hour can be produced. It is also minimal when it comes to the cost of the inks. Most companies charge the client a one-time setup fee for each color separation as it is time- consuming to set up and clean the screens. In case the customer ever needs to reprint, the screens are usually stored. A very clean solid color print is the pros of screen printing. Sharp text and great logos. Keeping the printing price low, it is perfect for mass production. Before fading, excellent durability for washing and rewashing it many times. Than its counterparts such as digital printing, it will last many more wash cycles.

  4. The t-shirt screen printing industry has cleaned up considerably over the years, environmentally speaking. Eco-friendly soy based ‘plastisol’ inks are what many companies will use. No injury, illness, or environmental contamination is caused by the manufacturer, transportation, storage, use, and disposal of their plastisol.
