(EU-)Energy • EU-situation (Energy): • Green Paper (March 2006): „A European Strategy for Sustainable, Competitive and Secure Energy“ • Energy Packages • new „Package“(number 3) with: • SET-Plan, CO2-Regulation, Emissiontrading • EU - targets: • 20% Reduction of GHG • 20% Energy efficiency • 20% Renewables • … Energy and Environmental Technologies
Construction and Energy • Why Energy Efficient Buildings? Buildings represent about 40% of all energy consumption and generates about 33%of GHG.New knowledge is needed on: energy efficiency, RES integration, materials, indoor environment, storage technologies, .. Energy and Environmental Technologies
ERA in Construction • 7.RP: (Sub -) Programs: • Nano, Materials and Products • Energy • ERA-Build: until 2008, some Joint calls finished • ERACOBUILD: negotiationphase • ECTP: SRA finishedE2B-JTI (in definition) Energy and Environmental Technologies
Future Activities • Europa: • ERACOBUILD: just starting • 7.RP: Concerto, Eco-buildings • ECTP: E2B JTI • The overall objective of E2B is to deliver, implement and optimise building and district concepts that have the technical, economic and societal potential to drastically cut the energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions due to existing and new buildings. Energy and Environmental Technologies
National Activities • National programs: • Building of tomorrow • Fabric of tomorrow • Energysystems of tomorrow • „BRA:IN“ – ongoing • „Building of Tomorrow Plus“ (just starting) Energy and Environmental Technologies
User and service aspects:aging, multifunctional, flexible Building of Tomorrow:State of the art and aims Low energy solar house Renewable energy sources Building of Tomorrow Passive house:< 15 kWh/m².atotal < 42 kWh/m².a Energy efficiency Ecological building materials and systems Renewable raw materials, building ecology Comparable costsmax. + 10 % Energy and Environmental Technologies
