Grading, Credit, and Your Transcript • Final Grades and Units of Credit are posted to the student’s transcript at the conclusion of the course. • Year-long course = 1.0 credit • Half-year course = 0.5 credit • EOCT is 20% of course grade • EOCT courses are 9th Lit/Comp, American Lit., Coordinate Alg., Analytic Geom., Biology, Physical Science, US History, and Economics

Building A Schedule • Teachers recommend core academic classes (English, Math, Social Studies, and Science) and enter recommendations into Infinite Campus (IC); • Students / Parents choose electives and enter choices through parent / student portal located on the SFHS Home Page
What are electives? • Electives are courses not specifically listed as required for graduation. Students can earn 4 or more elective units for graduation, but course choices are up to the individual student. • SFHS has elective course offerings in the following areas: *Visual Arts *Physical Education *Band *Technical / Career *Journalism *Theater *World Language

New Pathways for SFHS In 2013-2014 SFHS is making plans for two new pathways to be phased in, beginning with rising 10th grade students.

Online Registration of Elective Classes • If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please obtain an Activation Key from SFHS—Mrs. Coleman in West Hall Main Office, Mrs. Thomas in West Hall Counseling Office, or Ms. Willis in East Hall Office; • You will be given directions on setting up your Parent Portal account after obtaining your Activation Key; • Directions for online registration and Parent Portal accounts will also be given to your student on February 20th during Instructional Focus.

Online Registration of Elective Classes • All students must have a total of 7 courses for the year. Please select the number of electives needed to complete your student’s schedule and choose 5 alternate electives; • After you have made your selection, please print a copy for your records.
