  3. Dave Matthews Born: 1967 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Formed the Dave Matthews Band in 1991.

  4. Carter Beauford A rare version of “Halloween” showcasing Beauford’s talents First member to join Dave Matthews. Extensive musical background before joining the band. Known in drumming circles as an excellent percussionist.

  5. Boyd Tinsley -Boyd Tinsley joined the band reluctantly. -He remained in his own band, The Boyd Tinsley Three, for some time after joining the Dave Matthews Band. -In the band’s early days he was thought to be Dave Matthews.

  6. Stefan Lessard -Stefan is the youngest Band member to play in the Dave Matthews Band. -Stefan has his own line of snowboarding equipment. -Stefan changed from stand-up bass to standard to play in the band.

  7. Leroi Moore -Leroi had a long history of playing many woodwind instruments before the band was formed. -Leroi was the last member to join the Dave Matthews Band. -Leroi Moore died in 2008 due to an ATV accident.

  8. Meaning Behind the Music Many hardships befell the band including: -The murder of Dave’s Sister -The death of Stefan's infant child. -The death of Dave’s Father.
