  3. AEGEE was founded in 1985 in Paris during a conference entitled EGEE that aimed at overcoming the ongoing “Eurosclerosis” The first locals: Paris – Muenchen – Milano – Leiden – London – Madrid Only 6 !!!!!! TODAY THEY ARE 209!!!!!!

  4. more than 12000 members • 209 locals (Antennas) • 42 European countries • 70000 members since 1985 AEGEE is: • one of the biggest interdisciplinary students’ associations in Europe • non-profit organization, not linked to any political party or religion • all activities are based on the voluntary work of its members

Our Structure • AEGEE does NOT recognize any national level or national administration • AEGEE organizational structure is based on: • LOCAL LEVEL where members from AEGEE branches (the so-called Antennae) directly implement AEGEE’s aims according to the needs of their local community • EUROPEAN LEVEL giving the common frame and direction for all local activities and providing a platform for international co-operation in multi-cultural teams

Our Activities • PROJECTS: conferences, seminars, excursions and other events both on the local and the European levels • SUMMER UNIVERSITIES: unique international summer camps organised in more than 100 places all over Europe • ACTION DAYS: activities taking place simultaneously all over Europe dealing with the same topic • CASE STUDY TRIPS: field studies in order to learn more about some of Europe less-explored regions • TRAININGS: comprehensive internal education system offered by AEGEE to its members
