House Bill 5 • House Bill 5 was recently adopted by the Texas State Legislator. This bill dramatically changed the requirements for high school graduation in Texas. • The State of Texas changed the graduation requirements from 24 credits to 22 credit. • Also included in this bill was a reduction of standardized test needed to graduate from high school. • House Bill 5 will not be implemented until 2014-15 school year. http://www.alvinisd.net/cms/lib03/TX01001897/Centricity/Domain/3307/TEA%20HB%205%20summary.pdf
