Questions, queries and confusions • Star any topics you are totally confused by • Circle any topics you feel you don’t have enough detailed knowledge about • Pair work or class work on queries • How did the Berlin West Africa conference affect colonisation? • Zulu Wars/First Boer War/Second Boer War causes, events and consequences • Government Attitudes towards decolonisation – Labour 1945-1951, Conservatives 1951-1964, Labour 1964-1970 • How did African nationalism cause decolonisation? • Causes of prolonging white rule in Rhodesia and what finally caused this to change • Orderly process and aftermath of decolonisation.

  3. Exam skills • Take a question, plan the answer, ask myself or Miss Medina to review it, improve it if needed • Repeat!

  4. Exam paper • Bring all your Africa books to the Africa exam

  5. Revision final tips • Revise topics you are unsure about – don’t ignore them or bury your head in the sand • Learn relevant detailed knowledge from your notes and revision packs • Plan and write practice essays and give them to me to mark – spend around 40 minutes on each essay Exam final tips • Read the question and pick your question carefully – 3 times • Plan your answers • Stay focused on the question • Include lots of relevant detailed knowledge Come and find me or Miss Medina at any time or email us – we have very light timetables now so we are likely to be around.
