How much ? • You can apply for an amount between £500 and £5,000. • It can be for part of the project costs or the whole amount. • You can have up to £5,000 in any one 12 month period.
Who can apply? • Any not for profit group—you do not need to be a registered charity • Clubs and societies • Community associations • Schools, parish councils and health bodies (for certain types of project only)
Awards for All aims to... • Increase community involvement and participation… • Raise people’s skills and creativity… • And improve the quality of people’s lives.
Some costs that can be paid for... • Putting on a new event, activity or performance • Additional training • Pilot projects & start up costs • Publicity and transport • Additional equipment and materials • Professional fees or volunteer expenses • Updating facilities/equipment on health & safety grounds
What we can’t fund... • Running costs of an established organisation including annual events • Items that only benefit an individual • Activities promoting religious belief • Projects that replace statutory funding • Items already ordered or paid for • Loan repayments • Projects which do not demonstrate how they meet at least one of our aims
What is looked for? • We look through the constitution or set of rules that govern your group and your annual accounts to see how you’re set up • We need three months of original bank statements the most recent of which must be less than 3 months old to verify your banking details • Bank details verification form, signed by your bank
What is looked for? • There must be evidence within the application that at least one of our aims has been met • Realistic budget • What contribution is your group making
Project Examples • Faringdon Arts Festival—focussed on getting young people involved. DJ, mask making and street art workshops • Wantage Summer Festival—new activities aimed at young children and families. Teddy Bears Picnic with music, games and a musical film.
Common Reasons for rejection • Insufficient funds • Project / items cannot be funded as per Page 3 of application pack • Project does not sufficiently meet our aims • General ineligible group • Only one person to sign any cheques/withdrawals • Applying on behalf of another • Deficient constitution • Retrospective funding
