Some Key Requirements & Assumptions • Support CDMA2000 users roaming into GPRS system, and GPRS users roaming into CDMA2000 system. • Support bearer connectivity between CDMA2000 and GPRS systems via bilateral connections or 3rd-party exchange. • Allow Internet access via the visited system (i.e., requiring no bearer connectivity between CDMA2000 and GPRS systems). • Support RADIUS messages interworking between CDMA2000 and GPRS systems. • Require no changes to 3GPP specifications. • No handoff support of packet data session between CDMA2000 and GPRS systems.

Status • 3GPP2 TSG-X PSN/PDS is responsible for the specification (X.P0034) • A new stand-alone specification instead of revising J-STD-038 • X.P0034 progress • Approved text • Assumptions (sec. 3), Definition (sec. 4), Reference Model (sec. 5), General Requirements (sec. 6), Roaming Scenarios & Descriptions (sec. 7) • Current discussion • Call Flow Examples (see X31-20040419-036R2) proposed for sec. 9 • Target for approval in the Oct. 3GPP2 meeting • Narrow the scope to IS-835-A and Rel-99 • Going forward • Start discussion on stage-3 text after the approval of call flows • Approved stage-3 text will be in sec. 8 • Revised workplan: • Baseline by 1/31/2005 (was 12/31/2004) • Two-rounds of review (Feb. to May) • SDO publication 6/15/2005 (was 4/15/2005)
