IPMI SSU1 At2g43090 ipmi ssu1-2 SALK 111666 ipmi ssu1-1 SALK 115589 Photographs of the siliques of heterozygous ipmi ssu1-1 and ipmi ssu1-2 plants. In heterozygous ipmi ssu1-1 plants seed development stops at a very early stage, while in heterozygous ipmi ssu1-2 individual seeds formation is affected at a later phase. These abnormalities together with observation that plants homozygous for ipmi ssu1-1 and ipmi ssu1-2 alleles were never obtained strongly suggest that an intact IPMI SSU1 gene is essential for seed development.
