What are the aims • in the interest of exchange students • improve the social and practical integration of exchange students. • represents the needs and expectations of exchange students on the local, national and international level • provides relevant information about academic exchange programmes and ESN resources. • works with the reintegration of homecoming students • contributes to the evaluation of different exchange programmes www.esn.org

ESN International • A Board member is elected for one year at AGM by Sections and CNR • Runs the “ESN-Business” and represents ESN in all external affairs • The Board consists of the following members: • President and Vice-President • Treasurer, Administrator, Regular Board Member • The Board can make decisions on all matters concerning ESN, except budgetary, strategic, and policy matters and exclusion of sections • The Board is supervised by CNR and AGM while CNR represents AGM during the ESN-year www.esn.org
The NRs and the CNR • The Council of National Representatives represents AGM during the ESN-year. • The CNR is composed of the 29 National Representatives. • The National Representative is responsible for the contact between the sections of a country and the international level. • The CNR supervises the work of the Board, and must be consulted on budgetary, strategic and policy matters. It can reverse Board decisions. • The Board must meet with the CNR once, right after the AGM, and at least three times during the year. www.esn.org
The national level • Every country with more than two sections can work more efficiently with a National Board • Communication and knowledge management • National events and aid one another • Common marketing and sponsoring • A NB works in the interest of the sections in its country • The National Representative is member of the NB • A NB (NR) is responsible for the National Platform being organised, and ensures the communication and collaboration between its member sections • The National Board doesn’t replace the NR www.esn.org
The sections: the core • Sections consist of former Exchange Students and other motivated people and offer help, support and guidance for making a success out of exchange students’ stay abroad. • Sections are often supported by their academic authorities, helping them practically by offering infrastructure and financial support. • Many volunteers are: • organising socialising-events like parties, excursions • offering language-tandems • services like SIM-cards, bikes, discounts in shops .. • Each ESN Section is usually run by a Board composed of a President, a Treasurer and other members www.esn.org
