Mission Statement • To provide exposure to the general student body and public the diverse cultures, skills and talents that the University of Toronto at Scarborough offers • In layman terms: • We cover events that happens on campus to raise awareness, create wonderful memories and so others can see what they missed out on!

  3. YOU • When you are open to challenges and stay active as a volunteer photographer for Shutterbugs’ Campus Life Photography (SBCLP) … • Expose to different aspects of the campus • Improve on your photography skills • Make friends and network with people

Event Coverage Process Obtain requests for events coverage and confirm details Create Facebook event page Obtain volunteer photographers Exchange contacts between organizer and photographers Cover event Submit to Volunteer Photography Coordinator (the Head) for watermarking and submission to Organizer

  5. Event Coverage and Buddy System • New photographers (the Novice) will be paired with a more experienced photographers (Junior, Senior) • Status will be promoted by looking at: • Quantity • Quality • Attitude

  6. Event Coverage and Your Role • Before an event • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event • During an event • Act professional and no horse-playing • Coordinate with fellow Teammate and/or Teams to avoid blocking each other

Event Coverage and Your Role • After an event • Post-editing is recommended but not required • Use your best judgement to sieve through what can be posted and what cannot • Photographs taken in the event should be submitted to the Head within 1 week from the end of the event unless unexpected circumstances arises • Email download link to: volunteerphotography@utscsb.com • Pass USB in-person

Point Reward System • Purpose: A token of appreciation of your contribution to Shutterbugs and the community • How: • Points will be awarded based on activities that makes Shutterbugs more active and vibrant • Points obtained will be updated monthly and visible in the facebook group and email • Points will be used in a Silent auction at the end of the year for prizes

  12. Point Reward System • Event Coverage • The amount of time required is determined by the length of the event or minimum of 1 hour, which ever one is the shorter length is used • 100 points per event within 1 day • 100 points per subsequent days of the same event

  13. Point Reward System • Photoscavenger (monthly) • 100 points per participation • 100 points per winning (in addition to the reward) • Note-taking for Tutorial (1-pager) • 100 points per note taker • 100 points for compiler • And others …

  16. Training Ground • Purpose: To provide an opportunity to gain experience in event photography and work as a team • How: • Mock-event • Shutterbugs tutorials • Work in a group of 2-3 (50 points per person) • Restrictions imposed

  17. Training Ground • General Rule • A Team Mate appearing unintentional in a photograph will be void

  18. Challenge #1 • You have to take 60 pictures within your team (ie. Each person takes 20 pictures) • You must capture the essence of the event • Submit your pictures after the event for immediate appraisal • The team will get to pick the members who will be going to the next tutorial
