Knowing Truth Removes Doubt and Leads to Obedient Faith (Luke 1:3-4) (3) Now it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, (4)that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.

  6. Know in order to resist and reject? • The Jewish council, Acts 6:8-7:1, 54 • Jews in Antioch of Pisidia, Acts 13:44-46 • Men of Athens, Acts 17:32-34

  8. Christians are Expected to Know • Headship implies responsibility of authority with its attendant respect • Humanists, secularists and feminists do not want to know about headship and do not want to submit to it • Of God, Matt. 28:18 • Of men, 1 Tim. 2:12

  9. The Headship of God • He has all authority, Gen. 1:1 • His will rules and demands respect • Christ willingly put Himself under the authority of the Father to accomplish human redemption, Jno. 14:28, 31; 17:4 • We must follow His example!

  10. The Headship of Christ • Man must respect His authority, Matthew 28:18 • Hear Him, Matt. 17:5 • Do all in His name, Col. 3:17 • Yield to Him as our head in order to be complete, Eph. 1:22-23

The Headship of Man • God’s order of creation, 1 Tim. 2:11-14 • God’s assigned role, 1 Tim. 2:15 • Woman praying and prophesyingwas to wear the usual and proper symbol of respect and subordination, 1 Cor. 11:5 • Both men unwilling to lead and women unwilling to defer to headship sin by opposing God who established headship

  13. Believing but not Obeying • Saying you believe while not obeying what you say you believe is a lie – it is self-deception! Jas. 1:22-26; 1 Jno. 2:4 • Empty and useless faith, Jas. 2:15-17 • Obedient faith is saving faith, Heb. 10:35-39 • Shows confidence in God’s reward, 10:35 • Endures to the end, 10:36-38 • Otherwise…eternal destruction! 10:39

  15. Know and Obey the Truth • Fear the Lord, Prov. 1:7 • Write truth on your heart…trust the Lord…acknowledge Him… fear Him and depart from evil, Prov. 3:5-7 • Follow the truth of God
