  2. HiPCAT CDLT Update • Short Term CDLT Goals: • Stabilize video conferencing technology. • Explore newer conferencing technologies as a contingency. • Identify all members of the CDLT. • Share/gather new ideas from all CDLT members. • Report progress to the HiPCAT EC.

HiPCAT CDLT Update • Long Term Goals: • Hold regular monthly CDLT meeting/training on technical issues: Grids, Distributed Databases, Special Topics, etc. • Share new innovations developed at member institutions: Grid Portals, Globus methodologies, Best Practices, Policies, etc. • Lead internal workshops that are of a quality that can represent HiPCAT and be presented at external institutions, conferences and be worthy of publishing in a journal. (Ex: Cross VO projects THEgrid & BioGrid, VOM Grid project management challenges, Technical challenges of a State-wide Grid, Experimenting with new Grid middleware, optimizing Globus functions, Using and optimizing Grid Services, Running Grid jobs across institutions explaining job failures and successes, etc.) • Report progress to the HiPCAT EC. • Publish our collaborations: IEEE, ACM, SC200X.

  4. HiPCAT CDLT Update Held inSORS training on 1-19-2005 inSORS will post a professional training video soon. Major issues from training: Hardware issues – everyone needs sound canceling microphones. We learned how to bridge phone calls. We learned how to create meetings. We learned how to call telephones with the software. We have permission to host inSORS produced training videos off of HiPCAT’s website.
