Born and Raised • Born on March 26 1874 in San Francisco; First child and named after Confederate General Robert Lee • Father-William Prescott Frost Jr. (city editor of the San Francisco Daily Evening Post) Elected as delegate to Democratic National Convention in Cincinnati) • Mother- Isabelle Moodie

  3. Education Attended high school in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was covaledictorian of his graduating class. Went to Dartmouth College; studied for one year Went to Harvard University; studied for two years but didn’t take a degree Acquired honorary degrees from colleges such as Oxford and Cambridge

  4. Life “Frost projected an image of lovable, homespun and folksy. He didn’t like admitting his darker side, he refused to read his skeptical poems, and refused to read his skeptical poems in pubic, he also hid his desire to become famous and recognized from the public.

Frost’s Family Troubles Was upset with father’s drinking and gambling problems; diagnosed with consumptive Father dies of tuberculosis on May 5, 1885 Frost’s son Elliot dies of Cholera on July 8, 1900 at the age of 4 Mother dies of cancer on November 2, 1900 A daughter born on June 18, 1907 and dies on June 21

  6. Frost’s Family Troubles Wife suffers miscarriage; 1915 Wife Elinor suffers depression around 1928 Daughter Majorie dies 1934 Elinor dies of heart failure on March 20, 1938 Daughter Carol commits suicide on October 9 1940 Daughter Irma, goes to mental hospital in 1947
