The European Commission “The Commission should stress, more strongly, how the EU itself as a multinational actor has learnt and is making progress in overcoming national self-interest in recognizing the fundamental transnational nature of the challenges we face in the world today. This is not only an added value, but one of the most remarkable aspects of the EU. ” Bates Gill Director, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI)
“ As for the European values, they are not bad values. The question is: do the other people also have values? Are there other values that need to be kept in the picture as you emphasize your European values?” Nelson Sewankambo Principal of the College of Health Sciences Makerere University, Uganda
