  3. How does this relate to biology? • In order to throw a pitch you have to have energy, energy comes from the mitochondria.

  4. Starting Stance • Eyes on target (catchers glove) • Heel of your feet on the rubber • Elbows close to your body • Feet no more than 8inches apart

  5. Rocker step • Take short rocker steps, if rocker steps are too long balance is lost. • Weight on the ball of the rocker foot.

  6. Pivot • As the foot pivots, the shoulder should turn • Weight should be transferring back to the pivot foot (for righties the right foot, lefties left foot) • The back foot should be slightly bent, this means not locked out.

  7. Throw • Front chest should be over your front knee. • Glove tucked in chest. • Your front foot should be slightly open. the front foot will open by itself. • Laces should start to face down.

  8. Follow Through • Once the ball is thrown and the laces are pointing down the back leg will come up. • The arm is down going towards the knee, not to the side towards the glove.
