(1) GeoChat • As of 21 October • More than 1800 users • More than 200 confirmed in government public health in Southeast Asia • More than 30,000 messages since April ‘09 • More than 400 groups (roughly doubled since June ‘09) • 27% pure SMS (no Web), with 24 other groups using their own map layers • Includes livestock and crop monitoring groups, not just human health • ProMED feed over GeoChat • RSS to the Ministry, then group-blast SMS (geo and role filters) • Five nations (not counting the US) • e.g. Women’s Food Coop in Bukuba, Tanzania
