High school students filed into Baker University Center for an afternoon performance. Local high schools participated in both clinic and public performances from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Baker on Saturday. Pictured: Warren County High School, directed by Courtney Clark.
High school jazz performances took place in the Front Room Coffeehouse. Participating schools included Alexander High School, Edison Middle School, Warren County High School, Glen Oak High School Jazz I, Glen Oak High School Jazz II, McNicholas High School, Licking County Homeschooled Jazz Ensemble and Athens County Jazz Band.
McNicholas High School, directed by Keith Nance, preformed in the Front Room Coffeehouse on Saturday at 4:20 p.m.
Event staff unload instruments outside the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium for the evening OU Jazz Combos performance, featuring renowned Jazz musicians Rob Patron and Bob Thompson.
Attendees filed into the Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. for the concert that was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
Director Michael Parkinson introduced OU Jazz Ensemble II at the beginning of the concert. The combo began with a performance of "Louisiana Bebop."
Guitarist Mike Driscoll of OU Jazz Combo II preformed a solo during the ensemble's rendition of "Summertime." Audiences applauded the various instrumental and vocal solos throughout the piece's performance.
