What do we know about the economy…
According to the Workforce Development Plan for the State of California, and we can see the evidence all around us, the economy in California has gone from being heavily based in manufacturing and defense related activities (as it was right after W.W.II) to the world of high technology - with such buzz words as the information super highway, biotechnology and multimedia.

13. Future Jobs About 52% of the new jobs in Los Angeles County between 2001 and 2008 will be in the Services industry sector. (197,200)
Retail Trade will expand by 65,000 jobs.
Government jobs are expected to increase by 49,800. What is the economic outlook for San Diego County?
Most of the new jobs will be in the services sector.
