  1. Welcome to Touch Systems Data Entry Mrs. Gentry nicolegentry@tomballisd.net 281-357-3030 ext. 1239

  2. Curriculum • The main software program we use is Applied Microtype 3.0.

  3. First Half of Semester • To teach proper finger usage and placement on the computer keyboard along with proper body positioning to ensure good health in the future.

  4. Second Half of Semester • Once all letters and numbers are introduced, emphasis focuses on speed and accuracy.

  5. High School Credit • Students who pass will receive ½ a high school CTE credit for the course. • There is a final exam worth 20% of their semester average.

  6. Grading Guidelines • Work will consist of typing program lessons and internet typing program practice. • Follow the district grading guidelines of: • 30% Daily work • 70% Major grades • 3 Major grades per 9 weeks • 9 Daily grades per 9 weeks • Grades are updated by Friday each week.

  7. Schedule and Conference • Tutoring will be on Tuesday/Thursday mornings at 7:15 and will need to be arranged ahead of time. • Students may also use Genius Period (Advisory) if they have C lunch. • Late bus is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays • My conference time is 6th period between the hours of 1:11 and 1:58.

  10. Classroom Supplies • We use a lot of paper in this class for printing daily assignments. • 1 ream of paper per student would be appreciated. • Or Tissues
