The Texas A&M System Mid-Career Grant Program Highlights: • Participants receive up to $5,000 to become a certified STEM teacher. • $2,500 tuition reimbursement for participants • Up to $2,500 for intern fees (must have secured employment in high-needs school district) • Public Service Announcements: www.lifeisloud.org • Council of Deans and Advisory Council • Online Science and Mathematics Methods Courses • Participation in BTIM grant (if district qualifies)
TAMUS Mid-Career Grant Cohort 2 • Funded 45 participants statewide in 2010-2011. • 45 Tuition Reimbursement Awards • 28 Intern Fee Awards • 5 candidates were hired after the Intern Fee Award deadline. • 22 of the 33 hired are participating in the BTIM grant.
TAMUS Mid-Career Grant Cohort 2 • 13 males / 32 females • 13 math / 32 science • 11 are grades 4-8 • 34 are grades 8-12 • Previous occupations include: • Histologist - Credit Analyst • Microbiologist - Computer Programmer • Paramedic - Army • Auditor - Engineer
