Changes In The Alliance Group Communication And Support • This change simplifies communications between FTC, SGI, and all simulator users • Provides FTC Alliance members with “expert”, US based support • Allows FTC members to benefit from support items & training, developed exclusively for them.

Update On FlexSys™ Version 3.0 • FLIPSS replaces TSM as the support and diagnostic system • FLIPSS has 2 levels of functionality • Consultation Mode – [Users Only] • Customization Mode – [Administrators Only] • This package is a very significant enhancement to the previous TSM module by allowing customization • Demonstration will follow by Claude Mourey

  21. Update On FlexSys™ Version 3.0 • 70+ of the high priority issues have been solved, these mainly considered • Copydesk and its functions • Print fault images and their visualization • Trainer interface and its functions • Import/Export options • Plus additional programmed functionality

Update On FlexSys™ Version 3.0 • Tutorials have been added to introduce the simulator to new and existing users • Reducing the demands on the administrator • Increasing the “self-training” functionality • Improved installation system • Single group of operations • Set your own trainers module password • Demo of how to change the password

New Branding Of The FlexSys™ Simulator • At the alliance meeting in May 2002, the concept of a split version of the simulator was introduced • This was to allow separate software protection keys for both simulator and trainer • This change was received very favorably • However, since the Forum this concept has been significantly extended:

Initial release versions of the FlexSys™ “Lite” simulator, although complete, will be treated as “beta” versions for the overall FlexSys™ simulator. • ONLY following industry testing and inclusion of any corrections will the 30+ versions be added to the standard and professional FlexSys™ simulator

Introducing The FlexSys™ “Lite” Simulator • Subscribed FTC Alliance members who wish to participate in the beta testing will: • Benefit from access to their relevant beta combination as soon as it is available • Provide feedback and direct input to improve the combination where necessary • Receive intermediate updates if significant changes are applied • Receive the final version with a future update of the FlexSys™ installation CD

Introducing The FlexSys™ “Lite” Simulator • Subscribed FTC Alliance members who do NOT wish to participate in the beta testing will: • Receive the final version as an intermediate update, once all beta testing and any changes are applied • Expected at 3 to 6 months after first beta release • Receive the final version with a future update of the FlexSys™ installation CD • Discuss in more detail this afternoon

Introducing The FlexSys™ “Lite” Simulator • What is the FlexSys™ “Lite” Simulator? • Training Ready Out Of The Box • Once installed on a PC the “Lite” simulators need no training prior to use, just use the users workbook • Each users gets a copy of the workbook • Supplied as a digital copy for local printing & distribution • Workbook acts as a future reference source for users

  49. Distribution Of “Lite” Training Materials • For each “Lite” Press/Ink/Substrate combination there are: • 50 exercises • Administrators support (exercise answers) • Users workbook • Distributed to subscribed FTC alliance group members in digital format
