  3. Party size and composition • 36 students • 5 adults • Total party size 41 • Most of the party are beginner skiers

  4. Transport A modern, comfortable coach with: • Reclining seats • DVD player • Toilet • Seat belts • Suitable for winter conditions: snow chains and winter servicing • Ferry Dover- Calais or possibly shuttle

  5. Journey • About 24hrs door to door • Evening Eurotunnel/Ferry crossing • Several stops for toilets and driver change • Breakfast stop usually in Germany • Arrive in resort midday the following day (Saturday). • The first meal in the hotel will be in the evening.

  6. Bormio, Italy • Good beginners slopes • Many long blue runs for improving ski ability • Snow park for intermediate/advanced skiers

  7. Accommodation • BaitaMontanna . • Recreation room • Games room • TV/DVD room • Bar/Lounge • Ski storage

  8. Skiing • 5 days skiing • Lessons – 4 hours per day • Boots, skis, poles and helmets are provided • Ski pass provided • Pupils placed in ability groups • NO unsupervised skiing!

  9. Meals • Buffet breakfast • Hot lunch • Evening meal (buffet style) • 1st meal – evening meal on day of arrival • Last meal –evening meal on day of departure • Pupils usually take money to buy snacks and drinks on the mountain • Pupils will need to bring food and drink for the outward journey

  10. Evening activities • Options include : • Ice skating • Bowling • Quiz • Presentation evening

  11. Typical week • Day 1 travel • Day 2 travel, Ski fit, evening meal • Day 3-6 full days skiing and evening activities • Day 7 full day skiing, evening meal and depart for home • Day 8 travel

  12. Typical day • 8am breakfast • 9.30am depart for slopes • 10am-12 midday ski lessons • Lunch on mountain • 1pm- 3pm ski lessons • 4pm return to hotel • Shower, evening meal • Evening activity • Bed

  13. Luggage • 1 medium sized holdall or soft suitcase • 1 piece of hand luggage for journey

  14. Money & other essential documents • Pack most of the money in suitcase and keep out enough money for the journey • Passport • European travel insurance card. This is free and can be ordered online www.dh.gov.uk • Suggested amount 150 Euros. Some sterling for the U.K part of the journey. • Money can be collected by staff on arrival in Austria and distributed daily.

  15. Essential ski clothing and extras • Ski jacket • Sallopettes /ski trousers • Base layers • Ski gloves/mittens • Warm hat • Small rucksack • Goggles • Sun glasses • Sun cream • Lip salve

  16. Apres ski wear and extras • Warm clothing • Sensible footwear • Swimming costume and towel • Travel pillow • Personal music for journey

  17. Medical matters • Travel sickness –please ensure that the necessary precautions are taken • Pupils responsible for own medication • Inform member of staff if pupils are on medication

  18. Behaviour • Highest standard of behaviour expected at all times • On journey • In hotel • Around the village • On slopes • No alcohol permitted for pupils • No smoking • Pupils who misbehave should expect to be punished

  19. Final arrangements • Our departure time will be tweeted out and updated on the website nearer to the time. • Return time is the evening of Friday 20th

  20. Medical details and contact numbers • Please take a medical form and complete it fully. • Forms can be completed and handed in tonight. • Emergency contact person in the UK is Mr D Benny- contact details given before departure
