  1. IRELAND CHARTERED ENGINEER PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW PROCESS If you dream of becoming a Chartered Engineer with the issuance from Engineers Ireland, you should read this blog to know about the professional interview process. The better you know this, the easier it will be for you to prepare for it to attain a positive result. Professional interview: The professional interview provides you with the chance to share and authenticate your involvement and ownership of proof already presented in your application. Engineers Ireland will explore the deepness of your engineering knowledge and experience in your requested area of practice. It is your chance to show your commitment to high standards of professionalism and your demonstrated understanding of ethical behaviour. It is also a chance for the interview panel to explore further all the necessary competencies. An understanding of the Chartered Engineer competencies, the definitions of engineering activities and engineering issues, and how these are reflected in your engineering practice are important. The professional is an opportunity for: · You to authenticate your ownership and involvement of the proof presented in your application; · Engineers Ireland to see the deepness of your engineering knowledge, experience and competence in your designated area of practice; · You to show your commitment to a high level of professionalism and your demonstrated understanding of ethical behaviour.

  2. The professional interview process: When your application has been evaluated and you are considered ready for the interview stage, you will be contacted to make appropriate arrangements. Your interview will be done via Zoom or a similar video conference platform for the Chartered Engineer Ireland status. An in-person interview can be fixed if required. The interview should usually take 60 minutes (the Further Learning Route interview will take up to 90 minutes) and consists of the following: Introduction by the chair of the interview panel on how the interview will be taken; 10-minute presentation by you: This is your chance to impress, so ensure that it’s not just a summary of your application. Your interviewers have already read this. For instance, the panel will wish to know about major engineering work you have taken up, perhaps additional projects which are not in your application, or an update about a project that was not complete at the time of submitting your application. For an in-person interview, you are allowed to use visual aids in your presentation (max A3 size). You can also use a tablet or laptop. However, it should be ready to present when you get in the room, and you will not be permitted access to the room before your interview. For an online interview, you can prepare a digital presentation. After your 10-minute presentation, your interview panel (consisting of either two or three Chartered Engineers from your discipline) will then further investigate the following: · The 5 competencies · The 3 learning outcomes (only for those applicants who have a further learning requirement) · Your career summary report · Your two essays · Your future development statements · Your presentation Resource URL https://www.patreon.com/posts/77450174
