  1. In Canada, the designation of P.Eng. means the highest standards of engineering knowledge, experience and professionalism in the country. So, if you dream of attaining this status, then read this blog. Here, we will tell you about the P.Eng Canada requirements so that you can know them and prepare much better for that to attain this status. You will be able to call yourself a professional engineer or a P.Eng. if you have a P.Eng licence from any Canadian province or territory in which you live. To become a P.Eng in Ontario, you must be licensed by the registration authority, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

To get yourself licensed, you need to demonstrate a minimum of 48 months of acceptable, verifiable engineering work experience that you earned after completing your undergraduate engineering degree. Academic requirements: P.Eng Canada experience requirements: The law of Ontario requires that you need to have four years of engineering work experience before you can attain your professional engineering licence. To meet PEO’s academic requirements to win the professional engineering licence, you need to hold a bachelor’s degree from an engineering program that is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) or equivalent academic qualifications. If your engineering program is not CEAB-accredited, PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) will evaluate the academic background to determine if it is equivalent to the academic qualification in the discipline of engineering. The assessment authority, PEO assesses the engineering experience against five quality-based criteria: ·Application of theory ·Management of engineering ·Communication skills ·Practical experience ·Awareness of the social implications of engineering 3

Professional Practice Exam (PPE): Professional Practice Exam (PPE): NPPE (the National Professional Practice Examination is a 2.5-hour, closed-book, online exam on ethics, professional practice, engineering law and professional responsibility. You can write the NPPE at any time (within the time limit given by PEO), as you need to have a minimum of 48-month work experience to attain a licence. To lessen the time to licensure, you will be encouraged to write the NPPE early in the time frame given to you by PEO. The is conducted five times a year (January/February, April, June, August/September and November). The exam is taken via remote proctoring, which means you will be able to write the exam from your home. Special accommodations can be made for you if you have a demonstrated need. You should contact the PEO Exam Centre to know more about making special accommodation requests
