Two men meet by fate, Rainsford a ship wreck survivor and Zaroff a villain who wants to hunt Rainsford. I stopped reading when Zaroff bit off more than he could chew with Rainsford being a skilled hunter like Zaroff. Rainsford know ways to capture , or kill animals even without a gun.
The ground grew softer under his moccasins; the vegetation grew ranker, denser; insects bit him savagely. Then, as he stepped forward, his foot sank into the ooze. He tried to wrench it back, but the muck sucked viciously at his foot as if it were a giant leech. • Rainsford won over Zaroff, Zaroff was willing to kill one of his friends so he could win the hunt but turns out it wasn’t worth it . My prediction was right , Rainsford set traps for Zaroff. Zaroff knew about two of them , but the last one nobody knew what was coming. Rainsford jumped off of the cliffs because Zaroff was going to surround him by the blood hounds.
He went to the window and looked down at the courtyard. He could see the great hounds, and he called: “Better luck another time,” to them. Then he switched on the light. A man, who had been hiding in the curtains of the bed, was standing there. • Zaroff thought he was master at his own game ands in the end Rainsford beat him at his own game. Even though the odds are in your favor you can still end up loosing.
