  3. What • Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on an adventure to discover new land. They wanted to discover there purchased land. It took 4 years to complete the mission. Next page

  4. Where • Lewis and Clark were sent to go west to discover new land. They started at the Mississippi River and went all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Next page

When • In 1801 Thomas Jefferson became president • 1803 in a secret meeting to the congress ,Thomas Jefferson seeks permission for expedition first exploration of unknown places that the U.S.A hasn’t taken. • In spring Lewis has been chosen as commander to congress. • In the summer Lewis picks up Clark and some other people in the Mississippi bank. • Then Lewis and Clark start the journey.
