Sometimes it can be scary just approaching people and asking them to join your SPEAK group… Holding a fundraising event gives you a good reason to approach new people. Inviting people to take part in or attend your fundraising event is a great way to spark that initial interaction and at the event they will be engaged with your SPEAK group and issues that you are passionate about

This is a picture of me about to launch into a charity hitch hike for a Climate change charity It was great because once someone had picked us up, they obviously asked us what charity we were doing it for. This meant we had a captive audience listening to our spiel about the importance of living a green lifestyle!
There are four different types of fundraisers… • Feat – a physical or mental challenge • Hardship – going without something or enduring something for a period of time • Social Taboo – sporting something which is embarrassing • Event – holding an entertaining or engaging event
