  3. Hole 1 Hole 1 begins Steele Creek with a monster down hill bomb. Keep your drive on the right side of the fairway or risk falling off the hillside. Deuces are rare on this 502 ft opening hole but not impossible. The cart path is not OB.   4. Hole 2 Hole 2 is another fun downhill drive. Pay attention to the skip and don’t let the water looming behind the pin sneak up on you! The cart paths are not OB. With a -41 ft elevation change, this 388 ft hole can be reached with a mid-range as well as a driver. The golf green on the right and the water behind are OB.   5. Hole 3 Hole 3 is a Par 4 that demands length off the tee in order to be able to reach the pin set between two pines at the top of the hill. With a +38 ft elevation change that mostly comes with the second shot, this hole will be a tough birdie. The cart paths are not OB but the green at the top of the hill is OB.   6. Hole 4 Hole 4 has separate tees for Pros and Ams. Be sure to go to the correct tee! The Ams will enjoy a relatively easy birdie opportunity but keep in mind the water looms to the left. Pros will have a little more difficulty getting the deuce. A tight tunnel shot that opens up about halfway down the hill can be tricky and the OB water is left of the basket. Cart paths and rocks are not OB.

  7. Hole 5 Hole 5gives new meaning to the phrase “Pucker Factor”. The Pro tee requires a 272 ft throw to clear the water. The Am/Ladies tee offers two paths to successfully navigate Steele Creek Lake. Aggressive shots need 172 ft to clear, lay ups need 140 ft to clear. Deciding which route to take may be the difference between a good round and one where the wheels fall off! Aggressive shots from either tee that clear the water have one more hurdle to cross. Skip shots, intended or un-intended, can result in entrance into the OB club on the ball golf green left of the pin. Water is OB. The fence line is the OB boundary. If you are on the tee side of the fence, you are OB. All OB drives will play the third shot from the Drop Zone marked in the fairway. Any subsequent OB’s will follow standard OB rules. Sorry, no Tin Cup opportunities here!   8. Hole 6 Hole 6 also has multiple tees. All Adv and Int Divisions will tee next to the green. All Pro Divisions will tee from the ball golf tee. The Rec and Ladies Divisions will tee off further down the cove. Be sure you go to the correct tee! The water is OB but the cart paths are not. All OBdrives will proceed to the Drop Zone and play the third shot. Any subsequent OB’s will follow standard OB rules. Notes___________________________________

  9. Hole 7 Hole 7 is a unique hole. Start by attempting to clear the top of the hill with a left to right drive. If you do, you may benefit from a skip and roll that could put you in position to get a 2. If not, a steep downhill approach awaits with a casual creek right of the basket. There is a ball golf green OB behind and above the basket but most shots will not end up there, we hope! Notes____________________________________________________________________________________

  10. Hole 8 Hole 8 is a tough par 4. A wooded, split fairway awaits with a large, uphill elevation change. Good shots will make the clearing at the top of the hill. A tricky exit is in store if you can’t get out of the woods. But there is a silver lining…no OB on this hole! Cart riders need to leave the carts next to the tee and walk this hole. The next hole plays back down the hill and the carts will be waiting.   11. Hole 9 The Front 9 started with a bomb and finishes with a bang! Hole 9 is a classic go-for-it hole. 528 ft of downhill crushing fun! With a -49 ft elevation change, many players will be challenging the basket but beware the OB ball golf green looming to the left waiting for an errant throw.   12. Hole 10 Hole 10 is a fun left to right shot that has plenty of deucability. The tee is tucked into the tree line and drives will fly across a green valley to a majestic stand of pines. Cart riders will need to walk to the tee as this is a CART PATH ONLY hole. The ball golf green is OB and will catch any wayward shots. The cart path is not OB.   13. Hole 11 Hole 11 is another downhill drive where most players will expect to get a birdie putt. Tee to green, the elevation change is only -3 ft, but the visual is very appealing. The cart path is not OB. Notes______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  14. Hole 12 Hole 12 is the first of back-to-back par 4’s. The drive is flat and demands a long left to right shot. Righties could consider a backhand roller on this tee. The basket sits inside the tree line perched on an incline. The ball golf green and bunker on the left are both OB as well as the barb wire fence that lines the left side of the fairway. Extremely errant upshots could land inside the storm shelter. The shelter is not OB so players get relief no closer to the hole. The cart path is not OB.

  15. Hole 13 Hole 13 is a tough one. The drive demands a long right to left shot into a grassy depression. Your second shot is blind and needs to fly left to right over the crest of the depression to approach the basket. There is a Mando on this hole. Tee shots must pass to the left of the Mando sign to avoid conflict with Hole 8’s green. Missed Mando shots proceed to Drop Zone. Beware the ball golf green behind the basket. It is closer than you think and shots that go farther right than expected will end up OB. The cart path is not OB. Notes_________________________________________________________

  16. Hole 14 Hole 14 will bring a smile to your face . A downhill mid-range/driver shot with an excellent chance for a 2. Not much to do here but let it fly! The ball golf green beside the tee is OB but it is doubtful anyone’s shot will end up there! The ball golf green behind the basket may come into play if you pound one too far. The cart path is not OB. Notes___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  17. Hole 15 Hole 15 is a BEAST. A true Par 5, it will take most Pros three shots to reach the basket. Every shot is uphill with the pin 70 feet higher than the tee. Reach back with all you have but be mindful of the shelter at the top of the first hill. Shots that land in the shelter will get relief, no closer to the hole. The ball golf tee area is NOTOB. Do not drive carts on the golf tee area. The ball golf driving range on the right is NOT OB as well.   18. Hole 16 Hole 16 will force you to hit your line. Tucked inside the pine woods, this hole is demanding and tight. Be ready for some interesting upshots. One good thing, no OB’s! Notes_________________________________________________________________________________________________

  19. Hole 17 Hole 17 is one last opportunity to get a 2. Keep your drive straight and low to make the gap and then nail the putt! Cart path on the right is not OB. The fence on the left is OB.   20. Hole 18 Hole 18 is a real treat. A long, low drive that finishes left will put you in good position to approach a very tricky green with a steep drop-off behind the basket. You’ll need to pay close attention or risk an un-wanted stroke. This hole also has a MANDO clearly marked and visible from the tee. Miss the MANDO and you will throw from the Drop Zone with a stroke penalty. Notes________________________________________________________

  21. OB’s and Other Needful Info • Cart path’s are not OB. • Holes 5 and 6 feature drives that must clear the water . If your drive lands in the water, proceed to the Drop Zone provided and throw your third shot. This eliminates any “Tin Cup” possibilities and reduces the potential for multiple lost discs. Any subsequent OB shots will follow standard OB rules. • All ball golf greens and bunkers are OB. Each area in question will be marked by a dark green painted line for easy identification.

  22. Some More Needful Info • Using a golf cart can be a different experience. Please pay attention to any permanent Golf Course Signs. If a sign says Cart Path Only, please abide by it. • Avoid trying to climb steep hills such as Holes 7 and 8. Please leave carts beside the tee and walk Hole 8. Hole 9 plays back down the hill and your cart will be waiting. • On Holes 4 and 5 use of carts will be extremely limited. Find a good place to park them and walk these holes as needed. • Do not drive golf carts on the ball golf tees or greens. • The only way we can continue to have a tournament here is to abide by all rules and regulations presented by Bristol Parks and Rec and Steele Creek Park Golf Course.
