An introduction to the key concepts and components of the <NSDI topic>.
Learning Objectives • After completing this module the student can: • (list learning objectives using proactive language including:explain, outline, list, describe, make the case for, implement, locate, access, integrate, create, publish, etc.)
<conceptual basis> • A statement or description of the <NSDI topic> purpose and/or role. --by whom (if applicable) url (if applicable)
<background information> • An outline of the history or an explanation as to how the need for the <NSDI topic> was realized.
<component overview> • A listing of the <NSDI Topic> key components and a description or graphic as to how the components relate.
<individual component descriptions> • Explanation of each of the <NSDI Topic> key components and its: • role • values/character • contribution
<Summary> • Reinforcement of the key components and the specific way in which they support the NSDI.
<Format: bulleted items> • When using bullets: • Capitalize the first letter of the bullet • do not capitalize the first letter of secondary bullets • Do not use periods or commas between bulleted items • Keep the text simple; provide details in the Notes field • Be consistent: • start each bullet with either a noun, verb, or adjective • apply the same tense when using verbs
Organization of the FGDC <Format: graphics> • Graphics used to aid comprehension should be: • simple and clear • titled or captioned • fully described in either the slide text or the Note field
