I am from… I received a B.S. Degree in Elementary Ed from Tennessee Tech University.
I taught one year in Houston County, Tennessee before returning to Tech for a Masters in Reading.
While there, I received a Masters in Educational Administration from University of South Florida. I never thought I would use the degree. We have many women going through our EKU Leadership Masters Program. We need those women to apply for principalships. Think about it! After that, I taught 5 years in a Sarasota.
My growing family decided to move closer to grandparents. We moved to TazewelI, TN and I taught in Middlesboro, Kentucky. It was the early 90’s and I became interested in KERA.
We decided to move closer to my family in Nashville. I accepted a principalship in Guthrie, KY. I was the first female principal in the county. After 4 years, I accepted a principalship at Southern Elementary in Lexington, KY.
Five years ago, I began my doctorate at University of Kentucky. I never thought I would need it but …..
Now, I am here! In order to become a faculty member, the doctorate is a must! I teach EDF 203, 319. My office is Keith 126. My email is june.hyndman@eku.edu and I love working with teachers-to-be.
I have three kids in high school… This one plans to be a music teacher.
