Trademark infringement in AdSense Vs. Google allowed competing insurance companies to buy ads linked to searches for "Geico" and "Geico Direct.” Geico felt that people intending to go to their site would get confused and end up clicking on one of their competitors’ ads instead. In court Geico came up with pretty convincing evidence that they were losing money due to the fact of these misguiding links. Google's cross examination of Geico's testimonials revealed the users knew the links they were clicking weren't affiliated with Geico. The court eventually ruled in favor of Google.
