  1. How to boost a host country’s attractiveness? Malin Ahlberg German DNA, Co-Chair global DNA Forum 1st SDM Joint Coordination Workshop Bonn

  2. Opportunities for DNAs • DNAs should take the opportunities to propose technologies which could be seen as automatically defined as additional (microscaleadditionality). • DNAs should promote the implementation of PoA: • Establishing contact with potential, trustworthy CME • Providing information on PoA to regional project developers • Openness to experiences for multi-country PoA • DNA should support project developers in collecting data for SBL. • Use the opportunity of assistance offered by secretariat and other stakeholders for building capacities on CDM. • Support project development

  3. Opportunities for DNAs • Establishment of efficient and transparent approval procedure is a very crucial issue for investors (responsibility, timelines, fees). • In regard to PoA host countries may have additional requirements: • For issuing a LoA is a real case in your country needed? • Under which circumstances may your country accept an foreign CME? • Are there any additional requirements? • In regard to project which are designed with an approved SBL simplified procedure could be offered in order to accelerate project development. • Transparent approval procedure

  4. Opportunities for DNAs • DNAs have the opportunity to submit their views on CDM standards and guidelines and thus to ensure that the country specific conditions are take into account. • Host country input is especially very valuable regarding suppressed demand and SBLs. • Without assistance of the host country DNAs the skewed regional distribution won’t be solved. • Good opportunity: The “2012 DNA Communicator of the Year Showcase” competition – “How to promote PoA” • Participation in call for public inputs
