What is CSR? • Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a business process which signifies that for any business or a firm it is important that they work for a social cause. It is essential that the business gives a part of what it gets to the community for its development. • A forwarded action which flows company’s vision and mission as a part of company’s everyday action’s
CSR is being aware of and bringing about change to working practices to eradicate exploitation and promote fairness and safety
CSR typically includes issues • Business ethics • Community investment • Environment • Governance • Human rights, etc
Why should companies get involved in CSR? • To create a trust among the investors • For becoming preferred choice of their customers • For enhancing brand value and reputation • Long term sustainability for organization and society

CSR moving ahead • Coca cola’s recycling effects is an example of corporate social innovation • McDonald’s also recently announced its intent to test ‘green restaurants model’ that significantly reduce energy consumption and waste production, a strategy that will undoubtedly reduce costs and benefit the environment, if successful

Conclusion • Corporate had moved ahead to a really new level to fulfill their social responsibility which not only help the society but also to these companies to make a reputation in the society. • The expectations from private sector regarding CSR is very high in the future • In the present scenario companies play an important role in the growth and development of the nation. They should be encouraged and motivated to contribute more.
