What Is APNG Camp? • APNG Camp means Asia Pacific Next Generation Camp that provides a forum for Asia Pacific young Internet users (researchers, students, and engineers) for further discussion in a variety of Internet issues.
Purpose of APNG Camp • Understand the AP* Internet organizations • Develop a program to support young Internet users • Establish a forum for further discussion • Educate young Internet users to be leaders in the future
Support to APNG Camp • Asia Pacific Networking Group (APNG) is an Internet organization dedicated to the advancement of networking infrastructure in this region, and to the research and development of all associated enabling technologies. Its mission is to promote the Internet and the coordination of network inter-connectivity in the Asia Pacific Region.
Current Participating Economies • Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, USA and Vietnam.

Theme A Camp for the Internet Leadership in Learning, Sharing, and Improving “New Relationships with the Net”
Keynote Speech • “New Relationship with the Net” includes three keynote speech: 1. Cyber Sex: Sexuality, Youth, and Cyber Space 2. On-line Game : Another Real with gamy interactions 3. On-line Communities : New possibilities added to the real space
Case Study • Case Study: 1. Cyber Sex: Comparative Research of Sexual Identities of the Next Generation among regions 2. On-line Game Comparative Research of the Aspects of the On-line Game Communities among regions 3. On-line Communities Comparative Research of Various Activities & Various Possibilities among regions
Special Events • Based on webpage style, online content, web interactive model, trying to explore the differences of Asia Pacific regional culture. • Welcome participants to present their webPages to demonstrate in this session.
Working Group • Based on the 2nd Camp in Shanghai, there are four working groups existing in APNG Camp. • Asia Youth Culture • Internet Policy in AP • Young Feminist Network in AP • Digital Divide
Asia Youth Culture • 1) Music in your country • e.g. melody, the words/lyrics, singer, etc. • 2) TV programs in your country • e.g. contents, etc. • 3) Popular words in your country • e.g. some words used by young persons, meanings, the origin, etc. • 4) Living abroad and youth culture • e.g. difference, common point, changes, etc.
Internet Policy in AP • Discuss the political and social implications of internet policy in different countries in AP, attempt to establish a collaborative research in this area, including internet governance, content censorship, and internationalized domain name issues.
Young Feminist Network in AP • Explore the differences between generations focusing on practical feminist activities and understanding feminism. • Try to map and structure an Asia Pacific Regional young feminist network.
Digital Divide • Information Super High Way • Free Flow of Information • Digital Divide • By presenting different countries’ research to have a comparative picture to reflect Asia Pacific regional status.
