Main character/karana • She is a Indian girl that lives on a island. • Karana lives with her brother • She jumped off a boat because her brother was still on the island • Karana has patience • Her dad died in a battle • she is a responsible little girl • She needs to survive on the island while she waits for a boat

  3. conflict • Her brother got left on the island because he was getting his fishing spear • She jumped off the boat to be with her brother on the island • Her dad was killed by the Aleuts • She is surviving on the island while she wait for a boat to come back and get her and her brother.

  4. Setting • On a island named “The Island of the Blue Dolphins” • The island is shaped like a giant dolphin • There are dolphins and otters and lots of wild life • There are also wild vicious dogs • She is very brave to be living there.
